GLEN and GLADYS CARLON
Love is enough, when life seems draining,
and all of those around
sound the voice of complaining;
Though the numbers of pleasant years,
are marked fifty and gold;
it's the same sweet phrase today we hold.
We proved it, our love was real;
fighting back the enemies,
showing strongly how we feel.
No, it wasn't easy, at times it was hard,
but we pulled close together,
and leaned on the Lord.
Our hands shall not tremble, our words not falter,
our memory burns bright;
remembering that day at the alter.
And this day of celebration, we pass o'er;
fifty golden years together,
we would wish to have fifty more.
