A Fisherman
(Tim Cox)
Captain of your own boat,
The Sea Wife 11, the name;
Docked in Honokohau Harbor,
Ready to bound the main.
Each day the log is legered new,
From around the world they come;
To catch the fish, they all dream,
Of landing the largest one.
No fishing Charter, no money,
Thats the business of the sea;
And if the boats break down . . .
Oh Lord, don't let it be!
Weathered hands, wrinkled brow,
from years of sea and sun;
When Captain of your own boat,
You stay till the work is done.
A Captain of your own ship,
The freedom, a valid goal;
But he rules the land and sea,
is Captain of your soul,
Stay strait the course chartered,
hold tight the Sea Wifes hand;
At home the wife is waiting -
For the return of her fisherman.
