Shelly

AN ORDINARY DAY

Scattered toys throughout the house,
Scampering feet like a mouse,
My nerves on edge by end of day,
My voice is harsh when heard to say,
“I’m mad Shelly!”

Crumpled clothes and one left shoe,
Lay on the floor not far from you,
And I am tired and I am spent,
As I think how through the day you went,
“I’m tired Shelly!”

Fair-haired child with doll nearby,
Your eyes are shut with a sleepy sigh,
And I gaze at you with heart of love,
While another views from up above,
“We love you, Shelly!”
