James Cagle

A BIG MAN
(James Cagle)

In this life there are some you meet,
who seem to accomplish noble feats;
You acknowledge their success with proper label;
Such a man was Mr. James Cagle.

Mr. Cagle is how we addressed him,
Because most of his life, an authority he’s been.
Managing stores for Pratt and Son,
Giving orders, showing what needs to be done.

He was an honest man of great respect,
To most he made a valuable impact.
He wasn’t tall, as you measure a span.
But to we who knew him, a mighty BIG MAN.

He knew how to work, was loyal and true,
If you needed a friend, he was there for you.
Men like James are scarce these days,
whose word is bond and friendship stays.

James just loved to fish and sit,
Swapping stories that you never forget;
Because James loved people, foe and friend,
But truly he loved Angie and his son, Jim.

Seventy-five years on this earth,
Living life full for all it’s worth;
Till illness came shortening its length,
Robbing him of desire and human strength.

James knew his time was close,
So he better have what he needed most;
He called to God Who grace imparts,
and invited Jesus Christ into his heart.

Good-bye James, our friend now gone.
You blest our lives oh so long;
There’s fishermen in heaven, and managers too!
And when life is over, will come join you.
